About the theory exam

Theory exam

To be admitted to the theory exam for any driving licence category, the candidate must present the following documents:

Medical certificate (Form IV 100/a);
Identity document;
Receipts confirming payment of the statutory fees.
(Admission fee for the licence exam — 40 GEL;
Licence fee — 15 GEL);
Certificate confirming training for the relevant vehicle category,
or independent preparation for categories A and B where permitted.

Documents for a minor (age 17):

Application (completed on site);
Medical certificate (Form IV 100/a);
Identity document;
Birth certificate (or notarised copy);
Parent (or notarised parental consent);
Public school certificate or driving school certificate;
Fee payment receipts (first admission fee — 15 GEL).

Documents for a citizen with student status (age 18):

Application (completed on site);
Medical certificate (Form IV 100/a);
Identity card with student status;
Fee payment receipts (first admission fee — 15 GEL).

The candidate may take the exam test in the preferred language, including Georgian, Abkhaz, Ossetian, English, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian.

After passing the theory exam, the candidate may take the practical exam once every 7 days for 30 days (paid attempts are unlimited). If the theory exam is failed, a retake is allowed after 7 days upon payment of the fee again.
